Country Representative (Voluntary Position)

You can work with us in ACP DYSS as a Country Representative (CR). Working with us means that you would become a Country Representative and get involved in projects and carry out the responsiblities of a CR.

Responsibilities/job Description

As a Country Representative, you will act as a liaison officer, a facilitator and a consultant to ACP based youth and organisations. Your responsibilities include but not limited to:

Build a community of ACP youth in ACP countries.
Organise, coordinate and oversee ACP youth during events (e.g. Youth Conference).
Write project proposals and implement funded projects.
Motivate and work directly with ACP youth to initiate and implement youth activities.
Motivate ACP youth to be involved in developing initiatives and events.
Engage in ACP youth sensitization campaign towards community development, capacity building and youth leadership and governance.

About You

You are a tenacious and motivated person with a ‘‘Can Do’’ attitude, who is interested in joining the team of youth leaders that are geared towards building and shaping the future of the youth through Pan Africanism. In addition to that you:

Must have a strong organisation skill as you will need to coordinate ACP youth for several events.
Are open-minded, innovative, solution-oriented, and a true team player – gaining energy through collaboration with others.
Are proactive and show great capacity to listen and learn about issues concerning ACP countries.
Must have a strong interpersonal, communication skills and the ability to develop a healthy relationship with people.
Show great ability to think strategically.
Are flexible and willing to travel for youth events within or outside your country.

Requirement

Must have a minimum of Secondary School Certificate. Any higher education is an added advantage.
Applicant MUST come from Africa, Caribbean or Pacific
Applicants MUST be resident in Africa, Caribbean or Pacific
Able to communicate in English or French.

Assistant Secretary General - Voluntary Position

About ACP DYSS:
ACP DYSS is a not-for-profit association of African, Caribbean, and Pacific (ACP) diaspora youth in Europe. Registered under the Flemish Federation of Social Organizations, ACP DYSS promotes Pan-African self-realization, professional excellence, and sustainable development through capacity building and collaboration with youth organizations in ACP countries.

Role Summary:
The Assistant Secretary General will provide strategic leadership, oversee daily operations, and represent ACP DYSS in advancing its mission. This role requires strong organizational, diplomatic, and communication skills to manage partnerships, programs, and advocacy efforts across Europe and ACP countries.

Key Responsibilities

Assisting the Secretary General in managing organizational records, correspondence, meeting agendas, and reports to ensure smooth daily operations.
Assisting the Secretary General in writing and presenting comprehensive minutes during all meetings.
Support the design, implementation, and monitoring of youth-focused capacity-building initiatives and partnerships with ACP diaspora and youth organizations.
Support in leading and coordinating the overall management of ACP DYSS.
Liaise with member associations, partners, and institutions to strengthen collaboration, promote ACP DYSS initiatives, and represent the organization when delegated.
Represent the organization in meetings, forums, and partnerships
Assist in planning conferences, workshops, and networking events, ensuring effective logistics, communication, and reporting.
Support youth empowerment initiatives and capacity-building programs.
Foster collaboration with ACP diaspora and home-country youth organizations.

Qualifications/ Requirement

Must have a minimum of a higher education in any field. A university degree is an added advantage.
Applicants MUST come from Africa, Caribbean or Pacific.
Fluency in English (French is an asset)
Proven leadership in non-profit, youth, or diaspora organizations.
Strong knowledge of ACP countries, diaspora engagement, and Pan-Africanism.
Excellent communication, advocacy, and networking skills.
Ability to manage multicultural teams and projects.
