About Us

The African Caribbean Pacific Diaspora Youth Support Services Kenya (ACP DYSS – Kenya) is a Not-for-Profit non-governmental organization registered on the 25th March, 2024 under the Non-Governmental Organizations Co-ordination Act of 1990 of the National Constitution of The Republic of Kenya. It includes the membership of the youth from the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) group of countries from the grassroot and the diaspora. The Organization was first registered under the Flemish Federation of Social Organizations (Federatie van Zelf Organizaties in Vlaanderen) in 2016 in Belgium.

The African Caribbean Pacific Diaspora Youth Support Services (ACP DYSS) is a Not-for-Profit organisation of Diaspora youth in Europe from the African, Caribbean, and Pacific (ACP) group of countries. ACP DYSS is registered under the Flemish Federation of Social Organizations (Federatie van Zelf Organizaties in Vlaanderen). Its initiative and core objective is to promote collective self-realization on Pan Africanism effort to ensure sustainable growth and solutions in ACP countries by employing its unique approach of re-education and working together. This would involve building the capacity of ACP Diaspora youth in Europe and UK for professional excellence, and development of ACP home countries in partnership with ACP country-based youth organisations.

ACP DYSS is a Pan African youth leadership community development professional organisation conceived in 2013 by Chigbo Stephen. In 2015, it was established with the support of the following co-founders – Dr. Jacinta Lemba, Mr. Innocent Ufomba, Mr. Gbedande Williams Vodouhe, Mr. Hospice Agondanou and Mr. Bawak Aruk Ojong.

In Kenya, ACPP DYSS Kenya was registered on the 25th March, 2024  by Elsam Ojing as the first chairperson.

Executive, ordinary members and partners of ACP DYSS, all from the ACP countries. ACP DYSS also organises several events which are open to non-members and well-wishers.
At the community level, ACP DYSS seeks a lot of financial support to carry out developmental projects in ACP grass root communities. ACP DYSS also seeks for collaborative support from the ACP Secretariat, ACP regional, national, and private organisations.
No. However, ACP DYSS can support collaborations or initiatives that supports ACP DYSS framework to source or solicit for funds.
ACP DYSS organises workshops, trainings, conferences, youth social events, info days and networking, meetings, talk and negotiation with ACP youth, authorities, and institutions.
  • National Meetings: For administrative, leadership and governance, the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, and the Board assume administrative, leadership and governance duties for ACP DYSS Kenya, within a formal sitting. The Secretary General is responsible for the documentation and management of information within the organization according to the Kenya’s Non-Governmental Organizations Co-ordination Board guidelines.
  • International Meetings: For administrative, leadership and governance issues, the President, Vice President, and the Executive Board assume administrative, leadership and governance duties for ACP DYSS at International level, within a formal sitting/meeting. The Secretary General is responsible for the documentation and management of information within the organisation. Every year, the member organisations meet at the Annual General Assembly to discuss and adopt the way forward and new working plan for the next year.
